In the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter lie’s one of the most influential bars in Manchester’s history. Originally opened in 1989 by Factory Records it was stated by Tony Wilson stated that ‘‘DRY is to be to bars what the Hacienda is to the Clubs”.
The original design and concept of the bar was unique and played an important role in the nations bar culture of today. The idea was for a bar more in keeping with the cafe-culture of Barcelona and Los Angles. Whilst DRY still today feels modern and contemporary, its history still flows within and the main features of the bar still remain. These include a spectacle of Japanese oak doors, Canadian telegraph poles, South African slate bar top and a giant spear on the ceiling running the length of the bar.
Our impressive back bar is not rivalled in the Northern Quarter and has 15 international draught beers, over 20 speciality bottled beers and of course over 100 different spirits. It holds a whole host ciders and the selection ranges from fruity bottled choices to cloudy draft pints. The cocktail menus are lengthy and are filled with deliciously tasting cocktails. There is also a carefully selected list of fantastic wines and champagne to choose from to your liking.
Our kitchen boasts the best quality homemade food the Northern Quarter has to offer with tasty homemade burgers topped with toppings ranging from tangy melted ‘Cheese and Bacon’ to ‘Falafel and Hummous’. We also are proud to offer pizzas which are made freshly to order with great toppings such as ‘Steak and Onion’, ‘Meat Feast’ ‘Vegetarian’ and ‘Hot and Spicy’ only to name a few. The new additions to our menu include fajitas and a fine selection of gourmet sandwiches. For those who just want a quick bite to eat we have a range of sharers such as garlic bread, nachos and breaded chicken goujons which are all served with special DRY homemade sauces.
